Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today issued two Royal decrees reading as follows:

Royal Decree No. (59/2024) on the promulgation of the system for signing the state’s contracts and financial obligations.

Article (1) states that provisions of the system for signing the state’s contracts and financial obligations attached to this decree shall be applied.

Article (2)cancels Royal Decree No 48/76 on signing foreign and domestic financial transactions, as well as all that contradicts the attached system or contravenes its provisions.

Article (3)says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced after (30) days from its date of publishing.

Royal Decree No. (60/2024) on the ratification of an agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and Ireland on the avoidance of double taxation in respect to taxes on income and the prevention of tax evasion. The agreement was signed in Muscat on 30 May, 2024.

Article (1) ratifies the aforementioned agreement in accordance with the version attached to this decree.

Article (2) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its data of issue.
