Sohar: Habta market in the wilayats of North Al Batinah Governorate witnessed a great turnout ahead of Eid Al Adha, the Habta market exhibits varied from the Eid sacrifices of livestock (cows, camels and sheep), in addition to other Eid necessities of goods and merchandise such as toys and ready-made clothes.
Al-Habba witnesses the men’s purchase of what they need of foodstuffs and barbecue supplies, and daggers, sticks, traditional belts, swords, and Omani clothing such as masar and kimim are sold. The “Habbat al-Eid” is an ancient legacy, and one of the customs awaited by citizens in the Sultanate of Oman in general and the North Al Batinah Governorate in particular, which are traditional markets that are held on the occasion of the advent of Eid on open areas of land, and witness a great turnout from citizens, residents and tourists.
