Handicrafts Exhibition Opened in Dhofar

Salalah: The handicrafts exhibition in Dhofar Governorate, organized by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Department in Dhofar Governorate, opened this evening, on the occasion of the Omani Craftsman Day, in Salalah Gardens Mall and will last for 3 days.

The exhibition, which was opened under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Saif Al Busaidi, Governor of Salalah, includes craft products and projects that enhance efforts to promote Omani crafts, and shed light on craftsmen and their products.

Mohammed bin Ali Al Shehri, Acting Director of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Department in Dhofar Governorate, delivered a speech in which he indicated that the Omani Craftsman Day embodies the civilized and national value of craft industries, sheds light on craftsmen and their products, and promotes efforts to promote Omani crafts. 18 participants from craft institutions and projects are participating in the exhibition.

To display their various handicraft products through several corners, such as: a corner for the live display of handicraft industries and the visual presentation of the industries, and a marketing corner for handicraft products. The exhibition will also be accompanied by a number of cultural events and competitions for children.

During the event, the outputs of the training programs were honored, as they numbered 72 craftswomen in various states of the governorate, in addition to presenting a visual presentation on the outputs of the training programs for the past year, and honoring the participants and government and private agencies supporting the craft sector.
