Health Minister lays foundation stone for RO 13mln New Mahout Hospital

Mahout: The Minister of Health Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti unveiled today the foundation stone for Mahout Hospital project in Al Wusta Governorate.

Sheikh Me’athad Mohammed Al Yaaqoubi, Governor of Al Wusta, Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al Ajmi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Administrative, Financial, and Planning Affairs, Wali of Mahout and number of Shura Council members at the Governorate featured at the groundbreaking ceremony.

The ceremony included a presentation of the project’s components and construction stages delivered by Eng. Jamal Salim Al Shanfari, MOH’s Director General of Projects & Engineering Affairs.

The 54 bed-hospital will be built in a construction area of 18,300 square meters, serving approximately 20 thousand people in the Wilaya.

The hospital will include outpatient clinics, an accident and emergency department, an operating theatre, a delivery room, medical laboratories, pharmacy, and a radiology department, in addition to internal wards, central sterile supply unit, a neonatal intensive care unit, and a service building.

The hospital will be equipped with electrical and mechanical services, air-conditioning works and networking, along with all supporting services in accordance to latest systems and applicable standards.

The Ministry has announced last year the commencement of the construction works for this health project upon approval from the Tender Board with a total cost of RO 13 million. Construction Works are ongoing and are expected to be completed at the end of 2025. – ONA
