Healthcare Management and Organization Committee holds 2nd Meeting

Muscat: The Health Care Management and Regulation Committee held its second meeting today, during which it discussed the governance of dealing with health products and pharmaceutical factories to regulate the dispensing of unauthorized medicines from the Sultanate of Oman to ensure the preservation of citizens’ health, and to study modern medicines with a focus on their quality and giving priority to Omani national factories and institutions.

The meeting, which was chaired by His Excellency Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al-Sabti, Minister of Health and Chairman of the Committee, included a visual presentation given by the Director General of Private Health Institutions on the regulations governing the licensing of employees in government health institutions to work in private health institutions according to modern regulations.

The Director of the Department of Treatment Abroad also gave a presentation in which he addressed the current challenges and discussed possible solutions regarding treatment abroad. The Health Care Management and Regulation Committee recommended governing some practices and issuing ministerial decisions regulating the handling of blood samples sent abroad so that they are sent to medical laboratories accredited by the Sultanate of Oman.

It is noteworthy that the committee is responsible for developing national and integrated strategies, programmes and policies between civil and military health units in the Sultanate of Oman, which are concerned with organising the transfer of human resources and coordinating between them smoothly and smoothly.
