    Muscat: Several governorates across the Sultanate of Oman are likely to witness heavy rainfall ranging between 20-40 mm accompanied by downdraft winds and hail on Sunday, May 5, 2024.

    Oman Meteorology (Met) warned about thunderstorms over 5 governorates: Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, Dhofar, and Al Wusta. The anticipated effects of these thunderstorms are significant.

    They may bring heavy rainfall, ranging between 20-40 mm, leading to poor horizontal visibility and potential flooding in valleys and reefs. Additionally, expect strong downdraft winds of 15-35 knots and the possibility of hail .
