Muscat: Heavy rains and hail have been lashing parts of the country early morning, The Oman Meteorology has issued an alert to residents

Oman Meteorology alert at 6:38 AM: Follow-up: The latest update from the Muscat radar output shows a very heavy rain thunderstorm cell accompanied by active winds and heavy hailstones falling over Al Buraimi Governorate, with thundercells extending from the South Al Batinah Governorate to Muscat Governorate and thunderstorms of varying intensity accompanied by active winds and heavy hailstones falling.

Oman Meteorology alert at 7:14 AM: Warning: A very heavy rain thunderstorm accompanied by active winds and heavy hailstones over Al Buraimi Governorate, moving towards North Al Batinah Governorate in the states of Sohar and Saham.  Follow-up: Thunderstorm cells extend over Muscat Governorate and thunderstorms of varying intensity fall.

Oman Meteorology Alert at 7:59 AM: The approaching and influx of thunderstorm cells accompanied by thunderstorm rain and hailstones in the governorates of Buraimi and North Al Batinah. Clouds continue to flow over the governorates of South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, Dhofar, and Al Dakhiliyah, with chances of continued scattered rain
