HH Sayyid Bilarab to inaugurate the strategic “Rabt” – Phase 1 of OETC

Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham bin Tariq Al Said will patronize tomorrow over the opening of the strategic project of the Oman Electricity Transmission Company “Rabt” – phase 1, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Eng. Saleh Nasser Al Rumhi, CEO of OETC, said that Rabt project constitutes a basic pillar in the electricity sector. The project will be carried out in two phases, the first of which comprises five stations, he added.

Al Rumhi told that the first phase of the project connects Al Wusta Governorate to the master grid. The project seeks to achieve a number of objectives, including the consolidation of sustainability, availability and reliability of the electricity transmission network all over the Sultanate of Oman, said Al Rumhi, noting that the project would diminish operational costs, cut down carbon emissions and improve economic growth.

Al Rumhi pointed out that the project would boost development in all sectors, thereby attracting more foreign investments.

Oman Electricity Transmission Company is one of the firms of Nama Group companies, which is entrusted with operating Oman’s electricity transmission network.
