Muscat (ONA): HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers (1443 AH) at Al Khor Mosque, Governorate of Muscat. HH Sayyid Fahd was accompanied at the prayers by Royal Family members, ministers and advisers.

The prayers were led by Sheikh Dr. Kahlan bin Nabhan Al Kharousi, Assistant Gran Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman. Sheikh Dr. Kahlan gave thanks and praise to the Almighty Allah for bounty of Fatih and for facilitating the fasting of Ramadan.

The sermon underlined the significance of the reward offered by the Almighty Allah for fasting, obeying His command, avoiding what He has prohibited and observing sincerity in worshipping Him alone.

Sheikh Dr. Kahlan added that, after the month-long fasting, the faithful learn a variety of lessons and come out stronger and more prepared to engage in good deeds.

Sheikh Dr. Kahlan pointed out that fasting is a school in its own right, empowering the faithful to master patience, savor the bliss activity, espouse the values of commiseration and perseverance and shoulder their responsibility as members of a collaborative society.
