Muscat: Workshops on developing cultural and innovative industries concluded today at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. The closing ceremony was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth.
The workshops were organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in cooperation with the National Programme for Investment and Export Development (Nazdaher). They generated 3 projects with an investment value of RO 15.4 million, 8 investment opportunities (to the tune of RO 19 million) and 20 empowerment initiatives.
Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Second Developmental Programme on Investment in Innovative and Cultural Industries, said that the workshops discussed means of fostering the culture of innovative action, establishing enablers and addressing related challenges in Oman.
Al Yousef added that the workshops hosted specialists in cultural and innovative fields from Oman and abroad, representatives of innovative projects, academics, researchers and houses of expertise.
At the closing ceremony, the participants watched a visual presentation on cultural and innovative industries and toured a roadshow on the outcome of the workshops.
