Higher Judicial Institute in Nizwa receives new batch of students

Nizwa: The Higher Judicial Institute in Nizwa today organized an introductory meeting for new students of a number of public prosecution assistants who were recently appointed to the Postgraduate Diploma in Judicial Sciences program at the institute.

Dr. Salim bin Salem Al Thani, Acting Dean of the Institute, said that the Public Prosecution Assistants will join an intensive theoretical study program during a full academic year at the Institute, and another year for practical training in the courts and various Public Prosecution departments.

He added that the programme aims to provide students with a deep level of legal knowledge, hone their skills and qualify them scientifically and practically to undertake their judicial duties after graduation, while possessing the necessary competence and capabilities required to perform the tasks assigned to them with professionalism and competence, in addition to instilling in them the values ​​and ethics of judicial work.

For his part, Dr. Wael bin Saif Al-Hanai, Director of the Teaching and Training Department, gave an introductory presentation to the students about the study system at the institute, the foundations of evaluation, and the academic and practical stages that they undergo during the program period. During the meeting, the new public prosecutors were introduced to the services provided by the institute, in addition to the requirements of the academic programme, training programmes and field visits.
