His Majesty confers ‘Oman Military Order’ on Senior Seconded British Officer

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has conferred Oman Military Order (2nd Class) on chief British loan officer Maj. Gen. Felix Gedney.

The military order was presented by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, when he received the British officer at his office today to bid him farewell at the end of his tour of duty.

HH Sayyid Shihab thanked the seconded British officer for his efforts in strengthening relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom. He wished him further success.

For his part, Maj. Gen. Felix Gedney commended the strong bilateral relations and expressed his appreciation for the cooperation extended to him during his tenure.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Zaabi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence, and Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF).  – ONA
