Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today issued Royal Decree No. 36/2024 assigning some specialties to the ministries of Finance and Economy.

Article (1) stipulates that the texts of clauses No. (6 and 7) of Annex (1) attached to Royal Decree No. 94/2020 on establishing the Ministry of Economy and defining its specializations, endorsing its organizational structure, shall be replaced with the following two texts:

6 – Studying the proposals submitted by units of the State’s Administrative Apparatus and other public legal persons regarding development projects in terms of importance and priority of their implementation.

7 – Endorsing five-year plans and submitting them, after coordinating with the Ministry of Finance, to the Council of Ministers for approval”.

Article (2) states that a new clause numbered “4-bis” shall be attached to Annex No. 1 of royal Decree No. 91/2022 on defining the specializations of the Ministry of Finance and approving its organizational structure. The new clause reads as follows: “

4-bis: Endorsing the annual developmental budget after the approval of the Council of Ministers.”

Article (3) cancels all that contradicts this decree or contravenes its provisions.

Article (4) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.    -ONA
