Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik held a meeting on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 with businessmen and owners of Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) at the Al Alam Palace in the Sultanate of Oman.

His Majesty the Sultan initiated the meeting by praising God Almighty and thanking Him for His blessings on Oman, for the achievements and good results that and give the country confidence to move towards the bright future.

His Majesty praised the role of the private sector and business owners to achieve the future aspirations of the Omani economy, especially supporting efforts to build an enabling private sector that leads a competitive economy integrated with the global economy

His Majesty discussed the future directions of the state and its policies aimed at continuing the comprehensive development process as planned in Oman Vision 2040.

His Majesty stressed the need for business owners and small and medium enterprises to benefit from the infrastructure, facilities, economic stimulus packages, and the many programmes adopted by the government, including enhancing the local content of Omani industries.

His Majesty said that there is a need to create a competitive business environment in the country that attracts investments, and creates job opportunities, in which the government exercises the regulatory role associated with efficiency and successful administrative smoothness, praising the role of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) in this regard.

Through this meeting, His Majesty the Sultan stressed his high interest and continuous follow-up to the private sector and his keenness to strengthen partnership and communication between this sector and the government sector.

His Majesty also stressed the importance of empowering Omani SMEs and startups in the Omani economy and integrating them with large companies through innovative solutions and quality business opportunities in the local and foreign markets.
