

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik on Wednesday issues Royal Decree No. (131/2020) in the matter of the water and sanitation sector.
After perusal of the Basic Law of the State and based on the requirements of the public interest,
Article one
The Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources proposes policies, strategies and plans in the matter of the water and sanitation sector and submits them to the Council of Ministers for approval.
Article two
The General Services Regulatory Authority undertakes the competences related to regulating the activities of the water and wastewater sector
Article three
The Oman Sewerage Services Company undertakes water and sanitation activities in all governorates of the Sultanate except for the Dhofar Governorate, and the Dhofar Energy Company carries out water and sanitation activities in the Dhofar Governorate.
