His Majesty Sultan Haitham Receives Written Message from Mauritanian President

Muscat:  His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has received a written message from President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, concerning bilateral relations between the two countries.

The message was received by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister when he received in Muscat today the Envoy of the President of Mauritania Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the relations of cooperation and partnership between the two countries, affirming their mutual commitment to developing and strengthening these relations across various fields, particularly in the economic and investment domains, in a manner that serves mutual interests and meets the aspirations of the two peoples.

They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, underscoring the importance of supporting efforts aimed at containing tensions and advancing political solutions, thereby contributing to the consolidation of the foundations of security and peace, in line with the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Faisal Omar Al Marhoon, Head of the Arab Affairs Department at the Foreign Ministry, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, Mohamed Vall Ahmed Bah, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Sultanate of Oman and a number of officials from both sides.
