His Majesty the Sultan receives Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today gave an audience at Al Barakah Palace to Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

At the outset of the audience, His Majesty the Sultan welcomed the guest. His Majesty valued WTO’s efforts to streamline global trade and ensure its stability. His Majesty also lauded its remarkable role to overcome challenges facing the global economy.

On her turn, WTO Director General expressed the organizations’ pride about its distinguished relations with the Sultanate of Oman. She commended the open trade and investment policies espoused by Oman under the wise leadership of His Majesty.

The audience was attended by Dr. Hamad Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office, Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and Ambassador Eloy Lauro, Senior Adviser to the WTO Director General.
