

Muscat: His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup Camel Race 2023 will start next Monday at Al-Fulaij Racecourse in the Wilayat of Barka, which comes as a conclusion to the annual festival of private camel racing in its twentieth season, and includes 56 races distributed over four days.
Hamid bin Ali Al Zarei, Director General of the Royal Camel Races, said: The competitions of His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup for camel racing will include an increase in the number of runs allocated to each category, in addition to an increase in the allocated prizes. The first day’s competitions will witness the holding of 22 rounds for the Facts category for a distance of 4 km, of which 14 rounds are for al-Bakar, and 8 rounds for al-Ja’dan. A car and a dagger were awarded to the first-place winner, while cash prizes were allocated to the winners from second to tenth place.
