HM The Sultan Visits Al Mussanah Air Base

Al Mussanah: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, today paid a visit to Al Mussanah Air Base of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO).

Upon the arrival of the Royal motorcade at the air base, His Majesty was received by Air Vice Marshal Khamis bin Hammad Al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman, along with the Commander of Al Mussanah Air Base and senior wing and squadron commanders.

During the visit, His Majesty the Supreme Commander listened to a briefing outlining the Royal Air Force of Oman’s advanced military capabilities, modern aerial assets, and its pivotal national role in safeguarding the Sultanate of Oman.

His Majesty toured several facilities at Al Mussanah Air Base and reviewed models of specialized aerial systems operated by RAFO. He also visited an exhibition showcasing the latest military hardware and advanced equipment in service, where he was briefed on strategic plans aimed at training and qualifying national personnel to ensure the maintenance, sustainability, and operational readiness of aerial military systems.

At the conclusion of the visit, a commemorative photograph was taken for His Majesty the Supreme Commander with the personnel of Al Mussanah Air Base.

This Royal visit represents a high mark of appreciation for the Royal Air Force of Oman and its personnel and coincides with the 67th anniversary of RAFO’s establishment. It reflects the continued modernization witnessed during the Renewed Renaissance, which has transformed the Royal Air Force of Oman into a modern and integrated force.

In addition to protecting the nation’s airspace, RAFO plays a vital role in providing logistical and operational support to other military formations, security services, and civilian institutions.

The visit highlighted the qualitative and quantitative achievements of the Royal Air Force of Oman, reflecting the comprehensive development achieved across the Sultanate’s defense capabilities.
