Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today issued two Royal decrees reading as follows:

Royal Decree No. 80/2023 deals with tax exemption.

Article (1) stipulates that the Minister of Finance shall be responsible for tax exemption wherever tax exemption is mentioned in laws and Royal decrees.

Article (2) cancels all that contradicts this decree or contravenes its provisions.

Article (3) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.

Royal decree No. (81/2023) appoints non-resident ambassadors.

Article (1) appoints Badr Mohammed Al Manthiri, the Sultanate of Oman’s ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as Oman’s non-resident ambassador to Ireland, the Republic of Montenegro, the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Latvia.

Article (2) appoints HH Sayyid Nizar Al Julanda Al Said, the Sultanate of Oman’s ambassador to the Italian Republic, as Oman’s non-resident ambassador to the Republic of Malta, the Republic of Greece, the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Albania, Romania and the Republic of San Marino.

Article (3) appoints Maitha Saif Al Mahrouqi, the Sultanate of Oman’s ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, as Oman’s non-resident ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden, the Kingdom of Norway, the Kingdom of Denmark, the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Finland.

Article (4) appoints Talal Sulaiman Al Rahbi, the Sultanate of Oman’s ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil, as Oman’s non-resident ambassador to the Argentine Republic, the Republic of Paraguay, the Republic of Peru, Plurinational State of Bolivia and the Republic of Chile.

Article (5) appoints Mahmoud Hamad Al Hasani, the Sultanate of Oman’s ambassador to the Swiss Confederation, as Oman’s non-resident ambassador to the Principality of Liechtenstein and the Vatican City State.

Article (6) appoints Hamoud Salim Al Tuwaih, the Sultanate of Oman’s ambassador to the Russian Federation, as Oman’s non-resident ambassador to the Republic of Belarus.

Article (7) appoints Omar Said Al Kathiri, the Sultanate of Oman’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, as Oman’s non-resident ambassador to the Principality of Andorra.

Article (8) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its data of issue.   –  ONA
