HM’s Visit: Oman and Singapore sign two MoU

Singapore: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Singapore today signed two memorandums of understanding in the fields of culture, youth and economic development as part of a “state” visit currently being undertaken by His Majesty the Sultan to Singapore.

The first memorandum between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and the Ministry of Culture, Society and Youth in the two friendly countries concerned strengthening cooperation in a number of aspects, including cultural programs and projects, holding joint theatrical and cinematic workshops, supporting translation and publishing initiatives to facilitate the publication of literary works by authors in both countries, and facilitating the exchange of information related to the protection of cultural heritage. The second memorandum between the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion and the Singapore Cooperation Corporation was concerned with strengthening and encouraging cooperation in investment promotion, facilitating trade and export procedures, developing small, medium and industrial enterprises, and enhancing the country’s brand identity internationally.

The two memorandums of understanding were signed on behalf of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman by His Excellency Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion, and Minister Plenipotentiary Anwar bin Ahmed Muqabil, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Singapore, and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Edwin Tong, Minister of Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister of the Ministry of Law, and Kung Wai Moon, President. Executive Director of the Singapore Cooperation Corporation.
