Honourable lady visited the Craft Training Centre in Salalah

Muscat: The Honourable lady, Spouse of His Majesty the Sultan, visited the Craft Training Centre in Royal Court Affairs in the Wilayat of Salalah.

Yesterday, the Honourable Lady, visited the Craft Training Center affiliated to the Schools Department in the Affairs of the Royal Court in the Wilayat of Salalah in the Governorate of Dhofar, which is a training center for students of the Sultan Qaboos Schools in Salalah, as it works to qualify male and female students in the field of crafts production for which the governorate is famous.

Upon the arrival of the Honourable lady, at the center, she listened to an explanation about the center, why it was established, and the development since then, under the directives of the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur. The centre’s objective is to strengthen the students’ relationship with their heritage and to teach them the ways of making crafts and handicrafts.

The Honourable Lady undertook a tour of the center’s facilities, starting from the Rabat hall, which has a number of traditional textile industries that the wilayats of the Governorate of Dhofar are famous for, this incude the manufacture of takiyas of all kinds and sewing the Dhofari dress and the Omani sleeve.

The Honourable lady, was also briefed on the progress of the female students in this field, and saw some of their work and spoke to them.

In the Hamran hall, the Honourable lady, was briefed on the palm industries that are being produced and students are trained in the center. where a number of household appliances such as fans are produced. Some products that can be used for decoration.

The Honourable lady, visited the Khanjar Hall, which is the hall designated for training students to make Omani daggers, where she saw the way Omani daggers are made from the beginning, as well as the process of weaving the dagger belt in various shapes and designs, and reviewed the aspects of training students on this important craft, which is one of the basics Omani men’s wear.
