Horse and Camel Festival held in Bidiyah

Bidiyah: The Bidiyah Equestrian Committee, in cooperation with the Ardah Camel Racing Committee in the Wilayat of Bidiyah in the North A’Sharqiyah Governorate, today organized the activities of the Sixth of Dhu al-Hijjah Festival for horse and camel sports, at the Al-Muntarib Center for Horse and Camel Sports in the wilayat.

Khalid bin Hamad Al Hajri, President of Bidiyah Horse Racing Club, confirmed that the festival, which is held on the sixth day of Dhu al-Hijjah every year, comes within the framework of interest in reviving traditional equestrian and camel sports in Bidiyah in particular and North Sharqiyah Governorate in general.

He added that the festival coincides with the Eid holiday in the state, and represents the most important sporting events and activities that attract participants, visitors and tourists coming to the governorates of North and South Al Sharqiyah, in addition to that the festival is a real opportunity for amateurs and professionals in photography and producers of short video clips, because the festival represents a beautiful legacy and present for the omani heritage.

The festival included the participation of more than 120 participants from horse and camel owners in the states of the North and South Al Sharqiyah Governorates.

The festival also included a number of accompanying performances and performances with the participation of the Omani singing group Arts.

It is worth noting that the Bidiyah Equestrian Committee, in cooperation with the Ardah Camel Racing Committee in the Wilayat of Bidiyah, are keen to revive the traditional folklore in the Al Sharqiyah North Governorate because of its importance, followers and lovers, in addition to preserving this heritage and passing it on between generations.
