Hotel Revenue Exceed RO 71mn by March 2024

Muscat: Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) show that the total revenues of 3 to 5-star hotels in Oman by the end of March 2024 rose by 8.3% to RO 71,907,000 as against RO 66,395,000 during the corresponding period in 2023.

The rise in revenues was due to an 12.1 rise in the total number of hotel guests that stood at 598,128 until the end of March 2024, compared to 533,790 guests by the end of March 2023. The rate of occupancy also grew by 2.2 percent, according to the NCSI.

Statistics indicated that the number of Omani hotel guests rose by 2.3 percent to 189,275 and that the number of GCC guests went up by 2.7 percent to 32,283. The number of European tenants grew by 23.9 percent to 217,284.

The number of hotel guests from the Americas stood at 19,521, while the number of hotel tenants from the African continent posted a growth rate of 13.4 percent to 2,735. In the meantime, the number of Asian tenants grew by 21.6 percent to 79,415. The number of hotel guests from Oceania stood at 8,661.
