Hotel revenues in Oman drop 62.9% end of December 2020


Muscat: The hotel revenues in Oman drop 62.9% by the end of December 2020 compared to the same period in 2019

In a statement Oman News Agency (ONA) said: The revenues of  3 to 5 stars rated hotels in the Sultanate decreased by the end of December 2020 by 62.9 percent to reach 85 million and 77 thousand Omani riyals compared to 229 million and 531 thousand Omani riyals at the end of December 2019, while the occupancy rate reached 26.4 percent by the end of December 2020.

The preliminary statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information on the main indicators of hotels rated 3 to 5 stars indicated that the total number of guests until the end of December 2020 reached 842,491 guests, a decrease of 52.5 percent compared to the same period in 2019, during which the number of guests reached one million and 774 One thousand and 258 guests.

The statistics showed that the Omani guests constituted the largest number of the total number of inmates by the end of December 2020, amounting to 479 thousand and 336 inmates, followed by the European guests with 176 thousand and 743 inmates, then the Asian guests with 72 thousand and 513 inmates, the Gulf residents 37,357 guests and Arabs from other Arab countries other than the Gulf numbered 23 One thousand and 943 guests from the Americas, 20 thousand and 668 guests, in addition to 6 thousand and 345 guests from Oceania, 4 thousand and 243 guests from Africa, and 21 thousand and 343 guests from other nationalities.
