Housing Ministry offers 15 investment opportunities for agricultural projects in Al Mudhaibi and Bidiya in North Al Sharqiyah

Ibra: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, through the Tatweer platform, presented 15 investment opportunities for agricultural projects affiliated with the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources in the states of Al Mudhaibi and Bidiya in the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, with a total area estimated at 2.5 million square metres.

In the state of Al-Mudhaibi, the Ministry offered 4 investment opportunities in a number of agricultural projects, including two opportunities in the project for fattening calves and producing seasonal fodder in the village of Al-Zahira, with an area estimated at 420 thousand square metres.

It is a project that includes the establishment of an integrated farm for fattening calves for the purpose of producing red meat, and producing… Seasonal fodder such as corn, barley, millet, cowpea, and sorghum, with a ban on the cultivation of perennial fodder such as alfalfa and rhododendron, in addition to the project adopting the breeding of high-meat-producing breeds, following modern methods of breeding, modern agriculture and irrigation, and adopting integrated production in fodder cultivation. Fattening calves, processing and packing meat, and manufacturing project by-products such as organic fertilizers, leather and other products.

Among the investment opportunities offered in the state of Al Mudhaibi is one investment opportunity in a project for breeding and multiplying camels and producing seasonal fodder, which is the establishment of an integrated farm for breeding and multiplying camels in the village of Al-Sabsoub with an area estimated at 420 thousand square metres. It aims to increase the production of red meat, produce seasonal fodder and adopt breeding. Breeds with high meat production, following modern methods of breeding and propagation, and modern agriculture and irrigation, while adopting integrated production in seasonal fodder cultivation, raising and propagating camels, fattening male offspring, processing, packing and wrapping meat, and manufacturing the project’s by-products of organic fertilizers and hides.

In addition to the existence of one investment opportunity in the village of Al-Zahira in the Wilayat of Al-Mudhaibi, in a project to raise and propagate goats and produce seasonal fodder with an area estimated at 420,000 square metres, which is the establishment of an integrated farm for raising and propagating goats for the purpose of producing red meat, producing seasonal fodder, and adopting the breeding of high-quality breeds. Meat production, following modern methods of breeding and propagation, and modern agriculture and irrigation, while adopting integrated production in seasonal fodder cultivation, raising and propagating goats, fattening male offspring, processing, packing and packaging of meat), and manufacturing the project’s by-products of organic fertilizers and hides.

As for the Wilayats of Bidiya, the Ministry offered 11 investment opportunities, of which 9 were allocated investment opportunities for palm cultivation and sorghum production projects, and one opportunity for each of the seasonal fodder cultivation and vegetable cultivation projects in greenhouses and open fields.

Areas of investment opportunities were allocated for palm cultivation and palm production project lands. Al-Busour in the village of Tawi Hamad in the Wilayat of Bidiya, with an area of ​​37.6 thousand square meters for the first plot, and an area of ​​39 thousand square meters for the second plot, while the area of ​​the third plot was 42 thousand square meters, and the fourth plot was an area of ​​41.7 thousand square meters, while an area of ​​42.3 thousand square meters was allocated for the fifth plot.

An area of ​​42.9 thousand square meters was allocated for the sixth plot, an area of ​​51.9 thousand square meters was allocated for the seventh plot, an area of ​​40 thousand square meters was allocated for the eighth plot, and the ninth plot was allocated for investment opportunities in the palm cultivation and basoor production project with an area of ​​34.2 thousand square meters.

In addition, one investment opportunity was presented for a project to grow vegetables in greenhouses and the open field in the village of Al Dhafra in the Wilayat of Bidiya, with an area estimated at 420 thousand square metres, which consists of establishing a project to grow vegetables in greenhouses and the open field, for investment by the private sector. This is in addition to one investment opportunity allocated for the seasonal fodder cultivation project, which is establishing a seasonal fodder cultivation project in the village of Al-Rumail in the Wilayat of Bidiya, with an area of ​​16.8 thousand square meters, for investment by the private sector, using modern methods of agriculture.

It should be noted that the proposed investment opportunities will contribute to increasing production in agricultural projects in the states of Al Mudhaibi and Bidiya and will work to supply the local market and neighboring markets with agricultural and animal products that contribute to enhancing food security and creating added value for specific projects in the agricultural and livestock sectors in the Sultanate of Oman.
