Muscat: HH Sayyida Hujaija bint Jaffar Al Said indicated that the women’s taxi service is a great opportunity for female job seekers to have their own income and for female employees to obtain additional income.
She added in a statement to the media during the service’s launch ceremony: I am very happy that this service made it easier for Omani women who want additional income or looking for a good income for themselves, noting that the competition for this job is very big.
Fatima Al-Shibliah, who is responsible for the women leaders’ procedures at Otaxi, explained that there are conditions that must be met by those wishing to register, including:
1- The period of obtaining a driver’s license should not exceed 3 years
2- The type of vehicle must be a saloon, not a four-wheel drive, and the engine capacity should be 1.6 and above
3- The age of the leader should be between 21 and 60 years.
She explained that this job is for women who want additional income, and there is no objection to being on another job.
She added: Female applicants for this profession are subject to a number of procedures, like other jobs, such as interviews and tests, and inform them of all rights and duties, and what they owe when there are any violations.
