

Muscat: The total in-country value (ICV) of active enterprises by the end of second quarter of 2023 in the Sultanate of Oman amounted to RO 9,090.7 million, according to the monthly bulletin issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The contribution of active enterprises to the GDP at current prices during the second quarter of 2023 was about 90.1 percent, compared to 86.1 percent for the second quarter of 2022.
Further, the ICV of large enterprises amounted to RO 6,420.8 million, representing 63.7 percent, down by 12.7 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2022, the ICV of medium enterprises amounted to RO 724,600,000, or 7.2 percent, an increase of 10.1 percent, while the ICV of small enterprises stood to RO 851,600,000, or 8.4 percent, an increase of 30.5 percent.
The total ICV of micro enterprises reached RO 1,093.7 million, comprising 10.8 percent, marking an increase of 36.8 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2022.
Moreover, the number of employees in active enterprises in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 11.1 percent, recording 1,772,582 during the second quarter of 2023, compared to 1,595,925 employees during the second quarter of 2022.
The number of private enterprises reached 227,609 by the second quarter of 2023, up by 13.5 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
