In pictures: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Rose, Honourable Assayida Ahd Rose Inaugurated in London

London: The Sultanate of Oman today Inaugurated “Harcarmine”, the rose named after His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, and “Harforver”, the rose named after Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdulllah Hamed Al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman.

The launch of the two roses was made within the context of Oman’s participation in Chelsea Flower Show, currently held in London and will continue until 27 May 2023.

Harcarmine and Harforever figure among the finest hybrid roses, and they derive their colours from the colours of the Flag of Oman. Harcarmine bears the red colour and Harforever takes the white colour, with the green colour around them representing the landscape.

The two roses were cross-bred after a number of agricultural experiments made by specialists on scientific grounds. The experiments showed the successful growth of the two roses in Salalah, Governorate of Dhofar, where they adapted to the governorate’s weather and climatic conditions. Their growth also proved a success in some countries of the European continent.

The inaugural protocols ceremony was attended by Badr Mohammed Al Mantheri, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to theUnited Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, among other Omani officials. – ONA
