His Excellency met with His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Ahmed bin Mashari Al Shamsi, Governor of North Al Sharqiya, in his office, in the presence of the governors of the Wilayat of North Al Sharkia Governorate. During the meeting, a number of development and organizational projects for the transportation sectors in the governorate were reviewed and discussed.

His Excellency the Engineer, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, stressed the importance of roads in enhancing social communication, facilitating traffic and movement of citizens and residents between states and governorates, and supporting various commercial, economic, tourism and investment sectors.

He added that the ministry is currently working on preparing a matrix of national priority roads in the current five-year plan, and other initiatives announced during the ninth media meeting of the ministry, most notably the logistical land bridge initiative and the initiative to link tourist areas to main roads, in addition to the program to repair road networks damage as a result of climatic conditions. During the visit, a number of sites were visited in the wilayats of Ibra, Al-Qabil and Bidiyah, and a number of citizens and their excellencies were met by members of the Shura Council, representatives of the states of the North Sharqiyah Governorate, and members of the Municipal Council, and listened to their needs for road projects and their suggestions.
