India tops the list of passengers at Muscat International Airport

Muscat: Oman Airport see 21.6 percent rise in number of passengers by 21.6 percent by the end of January 2024

The number of passengers passing through the airports of the Sultanate of Oman increased by 21.6 percent by the end of January 2024, recording 1,417,442 passengers, compared to 1,165,556 passengers at the end of January 2023.

Preliminary statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information showed that the number of passengers traveling through Muscat International Airport reached 1,290,552 passengers by the end of last January, an increase of 22.7 percent. They traveled on 8,756 flights, an increase in the number of flights of 16 percent.

Among the flights were 8,90 international flights, carrying 1,200,822 passengers, and 666 domestic flights, carrying 89,730 passengers.

Indian nationality topped the number of passengers through Muscat International Airport, with the number of arrivals reaching 86,234 passengers and 82,807 departing passengers, followed by Bangladeshi nationality with 16,388 arriving passengers and 24,877 departing passengers, then Pakistani nationality with 23,529 arriving passengers and 25,303 departing passengers.

The number of passengers traveling through Salalah Airport reached 120,506 passengers, an increase of 14 percent. They traveled on 809 flights, an increase in flights of 4.5 percent.

The number of international flights through Salalah Airport reached 423 flights, carrying 58,657 passengers, while the number of domestic flights reached 386 flights, carrying 61,849 passengers. The number of passengers traveling through Sohar Airport reached 1,140 passengers on 32 flights, while the number of passengers traveling through Duqm Airport reached 5,370 passengers on 54 flights.
