Indian Prime Minister Leaves Oman following Landmark Agreements

Muscat: Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India, and his accompanying delegation departed Muscat this afternoon, concluding an official two-day visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

The Indian Prime Minister and his delegation were seen off at Muscat International Airport by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs; Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister; Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat; Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion; Issa bin Saleh Al Shaibani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of India; a number of ambassadors at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and senior officers of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF).

The Indian Prime Minister was accompanied by an official delegation comprising Dr. S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs; Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry; Ajit Doval, National Security Advisor; Godavarthi Venkata Srinivas, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Sultanate of Oman; and a number of senior Indian officials.

The visit marked a significant milestone in Oman–India relations, witnessing the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across economic, trade, and strategic sectors.
