‘Innovation and Capacity Building’ Seminar Organized in Muscat

Muscat: The Royal Navy of Oman today organized its second annual scientific seminar titled “Innovation and Capacity Building.”

The event was held under the auspices of Air Vice Marshal Khamis Hammad Al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), and in the presence of Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman.

The seminar took place at the Shafaq Club of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and featured several key themes. The first addressed “The Reality of Innovation in Higher Education Institutions in the Sultanate of Oman,” while the second explored “The Experiences of Higher Education Institutions in Promoting Innovation and Supporting the Education and Learning Environment.” The third theme focused on “Partnership and Integration Between Civil, Military and Security Higher Education Institutions in Building an Educational Environment that Enhances Innovation.”

The programme was accompanied by an exhibition showcasing a range of technologies and innovations developed by members of scientific clubs and innovation departments at the Ministry of Defense and the Sultan’s Armed Forces.

At the conclusion of the seminar, participants issued several recommendations aimed at advancing innovation and capacity building, in alignment with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
