International Sculpture Camp to kick off in Sohar on Friday

Sohar: The activities of the International Sculptor Camp, in its tenth edition, will start on Friday in the Wilayat of Sohar in the Al Batinah North Governorate, under the slogan “Sustainability”, with local and international participation, and will continue until February 18.

Dr. Ali bin Sulaiman al-Jabri, general supervisor of the camp, told Oman News Agency that the tenth edition of the International Sculptors’ Camp is attended by 24 sculptors from 11 Arab and international countries.

He added that the camp witnesses a turnout by international sculptors year after year, as 12 main sculptors participate in this edition, along with 12 guest sculptors from the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Tunisia, Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, and Turkey. Side sculptors from Russia, USA, Italy and Germany.

On the development of the main activities accompanying the camp this year, Al-Jabri said that the sculptors camp this year comes under the slogan “sustainability” in line with the Sultanate of Oman’s declaration of 2050 as a goal to achieve zero-carbon neutrality, adding that the camp includes a scientific symposium entitled (A Decade of Sculpture… Sculptors’ Camp). in Sohar) in which writers, critics, and academics from the Sultanate of Oman and abroad speak, in addition to setting up digital modeling laboratories to develop creative industries, and cultural and artistic evenings.
