Iran’s minister of Industry set to visit Oman in February

Muscat: Mohsen Zarrabi, Chairman of the Iranian-Omani Joint Chamber of Commerce, said the growth of volume of trade exchange between the two countries by 73 percent.

He said, in statements published by the Iranian IRNA news agency, that the volume of trade exchange between Iran and the Sultanate of Oman amounted to one billion dollars during the first ten months of the current Iranian year, which began on March 21, 2021, and is expected to reach 1.2 billion dollars by the end of this Iranian year.

He stressed the development of a road map for Iranian exports to the Sultanate of Oman with the participation of the private sector and the Joint Chamber of Commerce, explaining that the focus in this map was on 6 axes, including startups, nano and knowledge companies.

He said that the Omani market is a very good market for Iranian goods, and our share of this market was 0.7 percent, or about $221 million, in 2013, and it rose to 3.6 percent, i.e. $1.16 billion in 2018, and there is a possibility to raise the share to 10 percent.

He stated that the Sultanate of Oman constitutes a very good base for re-exports of Iranian goods.

He pointed out that the Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade will visit the Sultanate of Oman from February 8 to 10, when he will be accompanied for the first time by a delegation from the private sector.
