Muscat: Oman Consumer Protection Authority says adding tax on soft drinks from October 1 2020, is a violation.

The Consumer Protection Authority interacted with one of the tweeters regarding raising the value of a can of soft drink, saying: The excise tax on soft drinks has been in effect since June 15, 2019, and it is already in effect.

Adding that its inclusion in the tax on sweetened drinks that was applied on the first of October 1 is a violation, and the authority requested that the tweet provide it with the name and location of the store
