Isolated rain expected over parts of Oman from tomorrow

Muscat: Isolated rain expected over parts of Oman from Saturday and during Sunday and Monday, says the Civil Aviation Authority in its Weather bulletin (2) Tropical system over Arabian sea.

In a statement CAA said: The satellite images and analysis of the National Multi Hazards Early Warning Center indicate that the depression system is lay centered over central Arabian Sea at longitude 61.8 E and latitude 13.9 N, moving westward to southwestward to the Gulf of Aden, with estimated surface wind speed around its center ranging between 17 to 27 knots and it is likely to decay into low pressure area during the next 24 hours without any direct impact over Sultanate of Oman.

Scattered clouds advection and isolated rain are expected over governorate of South Al Sharqiya, Al Wusta and Dhofar starting from Saturday evening and during Sunday and Monday. This tropical system may also cause an increase in the wave height with maximum height ranging between 3.0 to 4.0 meters and extending of sea water into low laying coastal areas of Arabian Sea.

The civil aviation authority advice all to follow bulletins and reports and avoid going to sea during mentioned period.
