Oman makes historic participation at ITB Berlin 2024 As an Official Partner

Berlin: The ITB Berlin Convention, the largest world’s tourism forum, will kick off tomorrow (Monday).

The Sultanate of Oman is an official partner for ITB Berlin 2024 which will run through 7 March.

The event is a unique opportunity to enhance the travel and tourism industry in the Sultanate of Oman and contribute to increase tourism flow to the country.

This partnership emphasized the Sultanate of Oman’s commitment to developing the tourism sector, strengthening its rank as a leading global tourist destination, and contributing to promoting promising investment opportunities in the country.

Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism will head the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman to the ITB Berlin Convention.

Oman’s participation in the event will be represented by as many as 70 tourist companies, hotels and enterprises, as part of the efforts made to promote for Oman’s tourism at the international forums.

Al Mahrouqi commented, “The Sultanate of Oman’s participation in this edition of the ITB Berlin, as an official partner comes in line with the efforts exerted by various parties to empower the tourism sector”.

He added that the ITB Berlin 2024’s celebration of the Sultanate of Oman as an official partner will provide various advantages that contribute to highlight Oman as a tourist destination in the region, and enable its access to about 14 million followers of the official website of the event.

He pointed out that the official opening celebration will be attended by more than 3,000.

Participants, representing 160 countries in the presence of several major tourism companies and travel and tourism sector planners from across the world will be covered by 7,000 media representatives of various international media outlets.

Al Mahrouqi told that the event will witness different segments of performances to introduce the civilization, history and culture of the Sultanate of Oman, including artistic, operatic performances, and more.

He pointed out that the efforts made by the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, to support the sector are pressing ahead through investments in infrastructure and the implementation of many tourism and heritage projects, which has raised the total investments in the sector to USD7.8 billion, while there are more than 40 projects under development as adventure tourism products.

He explained that these projects are scheduled to be completed by 2025 and 2026, in addition to a number of projects.

The Mayor of Berlin will open the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion after tomorrow (5 March) as the first pavilion to be opened in this largest forum, marking the start of its activities. -ONA
