Jail term and a fine of RO2,000 who violated the lockdown decision of the Supreme Committee

Muscat: The Public Prosecution said that the First Instance Court (North Al-Batinah Criminal Department) today, Wednesday, 08/12/2020, convicted a citizen for violating the movements ban issued by the Supreme Committee concerned with researching the mechanism of dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the Coronavirus “Covid 19.

The court sentenced him to one year in prison, fined him (2000) two thousand Omani Rials, withdrew his driving license for a period of six months, and date of the ruling.

It has been proven to the investigation authority that the convict violated the decision to prevent movement, and drove his vehicle during the lockdown hours of prevention while under the influence of alcohol, and he was driving his vehicle between residential neighborhoods quickly and recklessly, so he was referred to the esteemed court of justice.
