Muscat: Dhofar Governorate announced that it received more than one million visitors (1,006,635,) since the beginning of the Dhofar Khareef season until August 31, 2024, as increase of 8.7% compared to the same period in 2023 (924,127) visitors, according to a bulletin issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information.
Of these 753,105 visitors were Omani citizens, 171,162 were GCC nationals and 121,767 other nationalities
The number of visitors coming by flights sees an increase of 5.2% from 209,528 in 2023 to 220,528 in 2024 while 786,107 passengers come by road compared to 714, 520 in 2023..
While 59% of travelers arrived in August (593,513), followed by 393,829 in July and 19,293 in June 30 – July 21
The Ministry continues to implement and intensify its promotional plans in cooperation with its partners in the tourism sector in preparation for the winter season in all governorates.
