Muscat: In a collaboration aimed at sculpting the future workforce of Oman, KR Eshraqa Foundation, Khimji Ramdas’ Social Development, and the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) organized an “Employability Enhancement” workshop, aimed at preparing final year students for Oman’s dynamic job market.
The workshop brought together industry leaders, educators, and students, equipping participants with the necessary skills and knowledge vital for securing employment, thriving in their roles, and contributing effectively to Oman’s workforce.
Expressing the foundation’s enthusiasm about the collaboration, Nailesh Khimji, Director of Khimji Ramdas stated, “Eshraqa is committed to fostering the development of Oman’s youth and empowering them to become valuable contributors to the nation’s economy, in line with Oman Vision 2040. Partnering with UTAS for the Employability Enhancement Workshop aligned perfectly with our mission to nurture talent and create pathways to success for the next generation.”
UTAS also shared their excitement about the workshop’s outcomes. “We were thrilled to have collaborated with KR Eshraqa Foundation on this initiative,” remarked Dr. Faiza Salim Awladthani, Head of Business Studies, UTAS. “By focusing on key areas such as self-management, goal setting, and communication skills, we aimed to equip students with the tools they need to excel in their future careers and make meaningful contributions to society.”
The workshop covered a comprehensive range of topics essential for professional success, including self-management, attitude development, goal setting, decision making, perseverance, adaptability, teamwork, emotional intelligence, communication, negotiation, and entrepreneurial skills.
The objective of the workshop was to provide students with practical insights and strategies to navigate the complexities of the modern job market, thereby enhancing their employability and fostering a culture of lifelong learning and professional growth.
