Kumzar Festival Continues Amid Strong Public Turnout in Musandam

Kumzar Festival Showcases Village’s Unique Cultural and Maritime Identity

Khasab: The activities and programs of the first edition of the Kumzar Festival continue in the Musandam Governorate as part of the “Winter Musandam” season programs, amidst a large public presence and interaction.

The festival, which concludes tomorrow, Wednesday, is an opportunity to highlight the unique character of the sea village and its cultural heritage through artistic and heritage performances that reflect a blend of authenticity and innovation.

Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Shehhi, Chairman of the Festival Events Committee, said: “The Kumzar Festival represents a qualitative addition to the map of tourist events in the governorate, due to the unique location of the village, which visitors can reach only by boat, giving them a unique experience.

He pointed out that the festival aims to support productive families and craftsmen, revive local heritage, and promote Kumzar as a distinctive marine tourist destination, while involving the community in the organization and preparation.”

He added that the festival program includes a hospitality council, a “Made in Kumzar” corner, artistic performances, heritage competitions such as sword and yowla, entertainment competitions, shopping and popular food corners, and authentic folk arts, most notably the art of al-Rawah, al-Nadba, al-Razif, al-Sahba, al-Dan and al-Hamasiya, in addition to maritime arts such as al-Sarw and al-Qawl.

It is worth mentioning that the village of Kumzar is distinguished by its exceptional nature that combines mountains and sea, and the journey to reach it through the bays, as well as the prominent historical landmarks it contains, such as the Kumzar Tower and the ancient mosque.
