Kuwait announces the seize of largest commercial fraud

Kuwait: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Trade and Industry announced, on Tuesday, that the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Sector has seized the largest fraud in the Ministry’s history.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry, the counterfeit food items consisting of 52 thousand boxes of the brand cooking cubes international were seized.

The ministry said that, through direct instructions and directives from the Minister of Trade and Industry, Faisal Al-Medlij, inspectors have intensified their inspection rounds, which enabled them to control those goods that are sold to the owners of groceries and shops without an invoice, according to Kuwait News Agency “KUNA”.

It also said that the seizure process, which is considered the largest in the history of the Ministry of Commerce, was liberalized in preparation for transferring it to the competent authorities.

The statement quoted the minister as praising the work of emergency and inspection teams around the clock, and the continuous field tours to uncover any commercial fraud that harms citizens and residents of the country.
