Large turnout at Oman’s pavilion in Algiers International Book Salon

Algiers: The Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at the 26th edition of Algiers International Book Salon drew a large turnout. The event runs until 4 November 2023.

Oman is represented at the event by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth. Its pavilion saw an influx of Algerian readers from various segments of society. As a result, most of the books on display at Oman’s pavilion were sold out in the first two days of the event.

Said Rashid Al Obaidani, a representative of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth at Oman’s pavilion, told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the Algerian public’s showed keenness on Omani publications, notably books specialized in jurisprudence, the Arabic language and history.

Al Obaidani added that Oman’s pavilion comprises about 100 publications from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth. The exhibits include manuscripts that have been edited and printed, as well as publications provided by the Literary Forum.

The Omani pavilion constitutes a model of intellectual and literary works featuring literary arts like poetry, novels, fiction and criticism. Oman’s participation in Algiers International Book Salon assumes significance due to the fact that it enlightens the Algerian public about Oman’s ancient civilization and its deep-rooted culture. – ONA
