Launch of Second Edition of Oman Code Race

Muscat: The second edition of the Oman Code Race, was launched under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

Oman Code Race includes the 10th edition of Oman university competition on programming, Oman Beaver Competition and Oman Informatics Olympiad Competition. The race sees a large turnout of participants from Oman and abroad.

It aims at grooming a generation of young programmers to operate in tune with the needs of the labour market. Oman Code Race also includes the GCC Programming Competition, which will start on 2 November 2023.

The competition, which constitutes the second component of Oman Code Race, targets students at the GCC universities. The event took place at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). Its launch ceremony was held under the auspices of Eng. Badr Salim Al Ma’amari, Secretary General of the Tender Board.

Oman Code Race is organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in conjunction with the National Initiative for Digital Competencies (Makeen), the SQU, the Ministry of Education, OQ and Oman India Fertiliser Company SAOC (Omfico).
