Lebanese President Ends Two-Day Official Visit to the Sultanate
Muscat: President General Joseph Aoun of the Lebanese Republic and his accompanying delegation today left the Sultanate of Oman after an official two-day visit.
HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, was at the forefront of those who bade farewell to the guest upon his departure from the Royal Airport, wishing him a safe return to his country.
During the visit, President General Joseph Aoun was accompanied by an official delegation comprising Youssef Raggi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants; Maj. Gen. Michel Mansi, Minister of National Defence; Ahmed Al Hajjar, Minister of Interior; Nizar Hani, Minister of Agriculture; Dr. Rakan Nasser El-Din, Minister of Public Health; and Brig. Gen. André Rahal, Advisor to the President.
Upon departing the Sultanate of Oman, President General Joseph Aoun sent a cable of thanks to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. In his cable, the President expressed his sincere appreciation to His Majesty for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to him during the visit.
The Lebanese President underscored the importance of the visit, which he said provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen the bonds of fraternity and the deep-rooted historical friendship between the two countries. He noted that the visit enabled both sides to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation across various fields in a manner that serves the interests of the two peoples.
He described his meetings and talks with His Majesty the Sultan as constructive and fruitful, affirming His Majesty’s keenness to support fraternal relations and advance joint cooperation.
President General Joseph Aoun also voiced his deep gratitude to the Omani people for the warm reception and hospitality accorded to him, which he said reflected the depth of ties between the two nations. He prayed to Allah the Almighty to protect His Majesty the Sultan and grant him continued health and well-being.
