President Aoun: Talks with His Majesty the Sultan to Boost Economic, Investment Ties

Muscat:  President General Joseph Aoun of the Lebanese Republic affirmed that his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman and his meeting with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will elevate relations between the two countries to broader horizons of economic and investment cooperation, as well as enhanced trade facilitation.

In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), the Lebanese President highlighted the depth of historical Omani-Lebanese relations and the shared determination to further advance cooperation across various fields in a manner that benefits both nations and their peoples.

He noted that both the Sultanate of Oman and the Lebanese Republic aspire to forge a strategic partnership grounded in mutual interests. Priority areas include trade and retail, construction, manufacturing, transport, food services, artificial intelligence, education, agriculture, services, and healthcare, in addition to strengthening transit and logistical connectivity between the two countries.

The President pointed to recent indicators reflecting the momentum of bilateral cooperation: trade between Oman and Lebanon increased by 29.4 percent during the first half of 2025, while the number of Lebanese-owned companies registered in Oman exceeded 1,035 by September 2025. He stressed the importance of activating bilateral agreements in the commercial, agricultural, health and cultural sectors.

President General Joseph Aoun praised Oman’s acclaimed diplomatic role, underscoring Lebanon’s appreciation for the Sultanate’s balanced and principled foreign policy, which maintains equal distance from all parties and has enabled it to undertake pivotal mediation efforts to help resolve regional conflicts and ease tensions. He affirmed Lebanon’s keenness to rebuild ties with Arab countries and enhance engagement with GCC states.

He added that Lebanon is committed to prioritizing the language of dialogue, noting that he has called for rejecting wars and embracing negotiation as the path to resolving outstanding issues.
