Muscat: Oman’s CAA issues weather alert on Friday
In a statement said CAA: The National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre weather analysis indicates that a trough of low pressure (AlAtaya) Is expected to affect the sultanate from today Friday 7th may till Monday 10th may 2021
Varying intensity rain occasionally thundershowers associated with fresh to very fast winds and hail over Musandam governorate and Al Hajar Mountains and surroundings extend to the coastal areas of North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Muscat and South AL Sharqiya and flahs floods (Wadis) are expected and chances of isolated rain over parts of Al wusta governorate chances of blowing dust and fling of unstable objects due to wind.
Whereas, sea state will be slight moderate along most the coastal areas with maximum wave height of 1.5 meters. With chances of rough sea state during thundershowers
Civil Aviation Authority advices all to take precaution during rain and wadis and to check the visibility and sea state before sailing and follow the issued weather bulletins and reports, said in the statement CAA
