Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a weather advisory indicating that the Sultanate of Oman will be affected by a trough of low pressure accompanied by rainfall of varying intensity during the period from 13 to 20 December 2025, according to forecasts from the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre.

The Authority stated that rainfall may be thundery at times, particularly over the northern governorates, with the possibility of flash floods in wadis and valleys, in addition to active northwesterly winds.

Saturday Evening, 13 December:
Cloud formation is expected over Musandam Governorate, with a chance of scattered rainfall that may be thundery at times, ranging between 5–10 mm, accompanied by moderate to brisk northwesterly winds (10–25 knots).

Sunday and Monday, 14–15 December:
Cloud cover will continue over Musandam with scattered rainfall amounts between 10–25 mm. The effects will extend to Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, and South Al Batinah Governorates, with rainfall amounts ranging from 5–15 mm, occasionally thundery.
There is a likelihood of wadi flooding, alongside active westerly to northwesterly winds (10–30 knots).

Tuesday to Thursday, 16–18 December:
Continued cloud flow and formation of cumulus clouds are expected over Musandam, Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, and South Al Batinah, with scattered rainfall that may be thundery at times. The risk of flash flooding in wadis and valleys remains, with active winds continuing at 10–30 knots.

Friday and Saturday, 19–20 December:
Weather conditions are expected to expand over most northern governorates, with ongoing cloud formation and scattered thundery rainfall. Flash flooding remains possible amid continued northwesterly winds.

The Civil Aviation Authority urged the public to exercise caution during rainfall, avoid crossing flooded wadis, monitor sea conditions before heading out, and remain updated by following official weather bulletins and warnings.
