Intaj Suhar for Advanced Manufacturing, overseen by the Industrial Innovation Academy, stands as one of the initiatives supporting the manufacturing sector, fostering innovation, driving advanced industries forward, and promoting economic diversification in line with Oman Vision 2040.
“The company, which is based at Sohar University in Al Batinah North Governorate, functions as a factory for moulds and spare parts with the goal of mass production to achieve cost reduction, enhance production output, and target local and international markets,” said Majid Sultan Al Hinai, Executive Director of Intaj Suhar for Advanced Manufacturing.
Al Hinai pointed out that the company currently comprises three centres, namely Plastic Technology Centre, Manufacturing Tools Centre (Dies and Moulds), and Advanced Manufacturing Centre. “Intaj Suhar’s objectives include developing technological skills and capabilities; prototyping, product and tools designing and manufacturing; advanced training and HR development; enhancing ICV and promoting economic diversification; fostering job creation; and providing opportunities for the SMEs in the industrial sector,” Al Hinai said.
Al Hinai further highlighted that the project presently employs 150 staff, with the total equipment and machines count exceeding 100. Notably, the company possesses over 25% of all CNC machines in the Sultanate. “These factors are expected to empower the local industry and uphold industrial excellence standards at both local and regional levels.
